ENKO bacteriophage is a mixture of sterile filtrates of phagolysates specifically active against Shigella, Salmonella, E. coli, and Staphylococcus aureus bacterial strains. Composition & pharmacological action
Active phage components
Mixture of sterile filtrates of phagolysates of bacteria:
- Shigella flexneri (1, 2, 3, 4, 6 serovars) and Sh. sonnei
- Salmonella (typhimurium, enteritidis, heidelberg, newport, cholerae suis, oranienburg, Dublin, anatum)
- Enteropathogenic Escherichia coli
- Staphylococcus aureus
ENKO bacteriophage is a transparent white or yellowish liquid
Pharmacological action
Causes specific lysis of Shigella flexneri, Shigella sonnei, Salmonella typhimurium, Salmonella enteritidis, Salmonella choleraesuis, Salmonella oranienburg, Salmonella Newport, Salmonella dublin, Salmonella anatum, enteropathogenic Escherichia coli, and Staphylococcus aureus, providing targeted antibacterial action without affecting beneficial bacteria.
Therapeutic indications
ENKO bacteriophage is used for treatment and prophylaxis of purulent-septic and enteric infections caused by the microorganisms mentioned above.
