Product overview (general information)

Staphylococcal bacteriophage is a chromatographically purified phage lysate specifically active against various Staphylococcus bacterial strains. The liquid bacteriophage is a clear, sterile preparation distributed without prescription.

Important: Preliminary determination of phage susceptibility of the bacteria causing the infection is necessary before use. The preparation should only be used when bacteria show sensitivity to the phage.

Activity spectrum & therapeutic applications

This bacteriophage is directed for treatment of infections caused by Staphylococcus species (including S. aureus and other staphylococci), including:

Respiratory & ENT infections

  • Upper airways, nose, throat, lung, ear infections
  • Pharyngitis, tonsillitis, tracheitis
  • Bronchitis, pleuritis, pneumonia
  • Middle ear inflammation

Surgical infections

  • Infected wounds and burns
  • Abscess, phlegmon, furuncle, carbuncle
  • Paraproctitis, mastitis, bursitis
  • Osteomyelitis, panaritium

Urogenital infections

  • Urethritis, cystitis, pyelonephritis
  • Colpitis, endometritis

Enteric infections

  • Gastroenteric colitis
  • Cholecystitis

Neonatal infections

  • Purulent-septic infections in newborns
  • Omphalitis, pyoderma, conjunctivitis
  • Gastroenteric colitis and sepsis

Prophylactic use

  • Post-operational wound treatment
  • Prevention of hospital staphylococcal infections
  • Treatment of infected wounds

Dosage & usage information (informational)

The following information is provided for general informational purposes only and reflects usage descriptions supplied by the manufacturer. Dosage and application should be determined by qualified professionals based on individual circumstances.

Quick orientation: Treatment duration is typically 10-20 days. Routes and volumes vary significantly depending on the application site. Use immediately after opening and store opened vials in refrigerator.

General usage principles

  • Preparation is used locally only after appropriate treatment of infection source
  • Duration of phage treatment: 10-20 days
  • In case of relapse, the course of treatment may be repeated
  • Use immediately after opening; store opened vials in refrigerator at +2 to +8°C
  • Visual inspection prior to use is recommended (clear liquid, no sediment)

Common application routes (informational)

  • Oral administration
  • Rectal administration (enema)
  • Local application using phage-soaked dressings/bandages
  • Application into cavities (wound cavities, abscess, pleural, joint, urinary tract)
  • Topical application (rinsing, gargling, dropping, plugging)
  • Injection (subcutaneous, into abscess cavity, trans-thoracal puncture)
  • Administration via catheter/drainage where applicable
Application methods by condition (manufacturer-style informational)

Upper respiratory infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, ear infections):

  • 2-3 times daily using 2-10 ml
  • Methods: rinsing, gargling, dropping, plugging (1 hour duration)

Furunculosis and carbunculosis:

  • Inject directly into infection source, subcutaneously, or around infiltrate
  • Every day or every other day with increasing doses
  • First injection: 0.5 ml; following injections: 1-1.5 ml to 2 ml
  • Duration: 3-5 injections

Abscess (infectious):

  • Inject into abscess cavity after pus evacuation
  • Volume should be less than evacuated pus
  • For open abscess: use tampon with phage in cavity

Cavity applications (enteric, pleural, joint, other cavities):

  • 100 ml of phage preparation
  • Leave capillary drainage for repeated introduction every other day
  • Total: 3-4 applications

Lung abscess:

  • Trans-thoracal puncture and catheter in tracheobronchial system
  • One dose: 10-20 ml via catheter

Emphysema:

  • Puncture and drainage
  • Single dose: 10-50 ml

Intestinal problems in newborns:

  • Initial phase (first two applications): dilute phage by half with cooled boiled water
  • If no side reaction: continue with non-diluted phage
  • For sepsis and enterocolitis: apply rectally (by catheter) 2-3 times in 24 hours
  • Can be used orally and by enema

Infected wounds and pyoderma in newborns:

  • Twice daily application
  • Soak sterile bandage in phage and apply to infected/damaged skin area

I love your product even though...

I don't know how to use your product. I know that it is pure Bacteriophages instead of the contaminated stuff that Mikromir had, but I still could not use it because they were in a vial and not a spray bottle like Mikromir did so I sent the package back to them. I know that if I, too, had faith in the product that it could save lives, but since I failed online Histology with Penn Foster Career School I have lost all faith in life and have no future at all. I, also, have had 2 concussions and have Asperger's Syndrome. I love that your product saved an non-Christian's life Thomas Patterson. I did have a green infected left leg with green pus in it oozing out, but the Sulfa Cream finally knocked out the infection.
